: Ethics approval for conducting the study was obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh (AIIMS/IEC/19/803). The registration details of the institutional ethics committee are ECR/736/Inst/UK/2015/RR-18. The study was in accordance with Indian Council of Medical Research guidelines in Human beings and also adhered to principles of Good clinical practice. Written informed consent to participate in the study was obtained from the school principal, parents, and the study participants. Passive permission from parents was obtained, implying that students were excluded from the survey only when a parent returned a signed form denying permission. Principal/parent/child refusal to participate was considered for exclusion from the study. Also, children who were suffering from any disease in which PA was contraindicated or have been sick in the last week or have a bleeding disorder were excluded by screening with a Physical Activity Readiness questionnaire.
