: Each hospital in the CHIRPP program has undertaken their own ethics review; no additional ethics review was required for this study. The data were drawn from an existing de-identified surveillance database and, therefore, anonymized. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. Data can be accessed by contacting the Centre for Surveillance and Applied Research at the Public Health Agency of Canada (injury.surveillance@phac-aspc.gc.ca).
