The study was approved by Cardiff University School of Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee in September 2019 (SREC/2159). Access to anonymised linked data sources was approved by SAIL Information Governance Review Panel (IGRP) process in 2019. Informed consent was not required by the Cardiff University School of Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee as the study involved retrospective use of routinely collected and anonymised data.
