: Since we performed secondary data analysis of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data, our study did not require any ethical approval. The ICF Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the respective national ethics committees or other equivalent institutions of the selected countries approved all the survey procedures and instruments of the DHS. They were assured of confidentiality and data protection. Only if participants signed a voluntary informed consent and privacy was ensured, the interview was conducted. ICF International authorised permission for using the data for this research.
