The study was approved by the “Comité d’Ethique de la Recherche Biomédicale auprès du Ministère de la Santé Publique” (Biomedical Research Ethics Committee attached to the Ministry of Public Health; Approval N°52-CE/MINSAN 02 November 2009 and amendment N°60/MSANP/CE 26 May 2016 for MHURAM project and approval N°020-MSANP/CE 08 February 2013 for Hypertension study). During the initial census and the follow-up visit, informed consent was obtained from the head of the household participants included in the study. For hypertension survey, written informed consent was obtained from adult participants. For minors, written informed consent was obtained from parents or guardians on behalf of the minors enrolled in the study.
