Institutional Review Board approval for this research was obtained from the University of California, Berkeley (CPHS #2020–12 - 13886) and the Rwanda National Ethics Committee (No.620/RNEC/2021). Participants were asked for their informed consent for both the medication abortion and enrollment in the study. They were asked to consent to follow-up for the client exit interview and provide consent before the client exit interview was conducted.
