: In line with the regulations of the Federal Statistics Act of 1992 (SR 431.01), this study did not require formal ethics approval from an ethics committee. We utilised anonymised data from the Swiss Health Survey, which falls under the responsibility of the Swiss Federal Statistical Office and is carried out in accordance with the regulations set forth in the Ordonnance concernant l’exécution des relevés statisiques fédéraux of 1993 (SR 431.012.1) and the Federal Act on the Federal Census of 2008 (SR 431.112).These laws permit residents of Switzerland from the age of 15 to be recruited to participate in the Swiss Health Survey without formal written consent. However, all invited individuals were provided with relevant information regarding the survey and given the option to decline participation as well as withdraw participation at any point in time.
