: Scrub typhus is classified as a Class C infectious disease under China’s Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Law. Every case reported by medical institutions must be submitted through the Infectious Disease Network Reporting System, and epidemiological investigations and surveillance tests are required to further identify the bacteria and its sources of transmission. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. For confidentiality purposes, all scrub typhus data were analyzed anonymously.
