: Ethical approval for this study was granted by the Stellenbosch University Research Ethics Committee: Social, Behavioural and Education Research (SBER) under project number 24157. Data collection procedures for the ZDHS were approved by ICF Macro, the Zimbabwe National Statistical Agency, and written informed consent was obtained from respondents at the beginning of individual interviews.
