: The study was conducted according to the guidelines of the Helsinki Declaration. The study was approved by the AMREF Ethical and Scientific Review Committee (protocol number P298/2016) while a research permit was obtained from the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation. Informed written assent and parental consent were obtained from all the adolescents and their parents or primary caregivers prior to the data collection.
