: The study protocol was approved by the University of California, Los Angeles Institutional eview Board (UCLA IRB) (IRB#21–000149). All participants provided informed consent prior to participating in the study. Consent was obtained electronically via a pre-interview screening survey and reaffirmed verbally at the start of each interview to ensure confidentiality and participant comfort. Interviewers employed trauma-responsive techniques throughout the process to prioritize respect for participants’ experiences. Following the interview, the research team provided a list of available support resources to all participants. The research was conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the Belmont Report, the Declaration of Helsinki, and the APA Ethics Code
