The study was conducted using de-identified data obtained from the UK Biobank, which has received ethical approval from the UK NHS Research Ethics Committee (16/NW/0274). All participants gave informed consent at the time of recruitment. As the investigators from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine had no access to identifiable participant information, further ethical approval was deemed unnecessary.
