: The study protocols were approved by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) and University of Liverpool Veterinary Research Ethics Committees under the OPTICK () (HREC0026) and TickSolve () projects (VREC1183). All participants were adults (over 18 years) and gave written prior-informed written consent (in person or by email) before the conduct of the workshops and interviews. The collated data from the workshops and interviews were duly anonymised using de-identifiers or pseudonyms (e.g. W1 (workshop), KI001 (key-informant interview)) prior to analysis to safeguard participant confidentiality.
