Before beginning the research, a letter of introduction and ethical clearance were obtained from the Department of Public Health, School of Health Ethical Clearance Committee board of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. FUTO (Registration No: 00010/FUTO/PUHEC/P00170) and Ikeduru Local Government Area council health department.The purpose of the research was explained to each respondent, and verbal informed consent was obtained from all the study participants (both from the pregnant mothers and significant others) before inclusion into the study. Also, the anonymity of the respondents was assured, the confidentiality of the information’s provided was also protected and assured that the information’s provided were solely for research purpose and nothing else.
