: Ethical approval was obtained from The AHRI/ALERT Ethics Review Committee (PO/01/19) and written informed consent was sought from each participant. Participants were offered counselling regardless of their CVD risk score, and those with moderate to high CVD risk (especially, high blood pressure) were advised to see a health care provider as soon as possible. Participants were also assessed for severe symptoms which might require immediate clinical attention and provided with referral to the clinics.
