: The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board/Regional Research Ethics Committee of the University of Pécs, the Medical Research Council Hungary, and the National Public Health Centre (Record number 9283-PTE 2022). Informed written consent will be retrieved from the participants prior to randomization. The results of this trial will be disseminated via peer reviewed journal articles and presented at conferences. If the intervention programme proves effectiveness, we will propose the intervention to older adults in the control group after completing the entire intervention, and then we will take steps to communicate and recommend it in the long-term care facilities. Any important protocol modifications will be communicated and updated on clinicaltrials.gov, accordingly. During the implementation of the study, all participants information will be stored in locked cabinets in a room that is only people involved in the study will have access to them. All records that contain names or other personal identifiers, such as locator forms and informed consent forms, will be stored separately from study records identified by code number. Forms, lists, logbooks, appointment books, and any other listings that link participant ID numbers to other identifying information will be stored in a separate, locked file in an area with limited access.
