: The study followed the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines. Ethical approval for this study was obtained from the Ethics Committee of the University of Port Harcourt. Permission was also obtained from the Gboko Local Government Health Authority and the various selected Council Heads to study in their communities. Informed verbal consent was obtained from each mother/caregiver before participating in the study. This included the assurance of confidentiality, a description of the study objectives, and a specific request for permission to conduct the interview.
