: Ethics approval is not applicable to the used administrative register data. Statistics Finland was responsible for the implementation of the QWLS, as well as for the management and dissemination of that dataset. The use of the QWLS data is governed by an agreement between the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and Statistics Finland, which emphasises compliance with ethically sound regulations and research practices. Both the register data and the QWLS dataset have been pseudonymised, meaning that they contain no personally identifiable information. Furthermore, the QWLS data have been aggregated to ensure that individual respondents cannot be identified. No individual-level information was merged from the QWLS to the register data. Only aggregated occupational-level information from the QWLS was linked to individuals in the register data based on their occupational codes.
