Declarations
:
: This study was conducted following the Helsinki Declaration and the Canadian Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2, 2022). It received approval from the Comité d’éthique de la Recherche en Sciences de la Santé de l’Université de Montréal (CERSES-21-090-D). All the respondents provided informed consent prior to participation. In Canada, research consent is based on decision-making capacity rather than age; given the minimal risk of the study, youth aged 15 years and older were deemed capable of providing informed consent independently. This approach is consistent with TCPS 2 and is particularly appropriate for research involving sexual and gender minority youth, for whom requiring parental consent may pose a risk of harm.
