Ethics approval and consent to participate: The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Health Research Ethics Committee of the DRC’s Ministry of Public Health (No.714/CNES/BN/PMMF/2025). All study participants provided verbal informed consent prior to completing data collection.Interviews were conducted in private settings by trained community-based interviewers. Particular care was taken when addressing sensitive topics, including sexual violence, to ensure confidentiality, respect, and participant safety. Participants were informed that they could decline to answer any question or stop the interview at any time without any consequence.
