Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Permission for the ‘Backs on Funen’ study was granted by The Regional Committees on Health Research Ethics for Southern Denmark (ref. no. 20000042) and permission for the construction of the study database was given by the Danish Data Protection Agency (ref. no. 2000-53-0037) [CitationRef removed]. Information about the study was written down and mailed to the potential participants. Further oral information was possible by phone contact and given again at the participants first attendance at the Spine Centre, where further questions could be asked and answered. Then an informed consent form was signed by the each participants of the cohort.
