: The study was performed according to the Helsinki declaration and approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority, reference number 2019–04312. Because of the retrospective, register based, design of the study, which did not involve any additional risk for the patients, informed consent was waived, which was approved by the Swedish Ethical Review Authority, reference number 2019–04312. All patients were informed that registration in the Swedish Fracture Register took place and that they had the right to decline. According to Swedish legislation, National Quality Registers do not require signed consent from the individual registered patient. According to Swedish legislation, by accepting registration in National Quality Registers, the patients approve that the data collected can be subject to scientific research.
