Ethics approval and consent to participate
: This article does not contain any studies with animals performed by any of the authors. All the girls with TS and their parents were given informed consent forms indicating permission to have their clinical data recorded and willingness to participate in the study. The consent forms were signed by the patients’ parents. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee at The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (application ID: [2016] 037). For the girls in the control group, no blood tests or clinical investigations were conducted other than those for routine care. A waiver of informed consent was obtained from the institutions as all data being assessed was collected through routine clinical care.
