: An ethical statement for this study was approved by the Research and Ethics Committee of Sana’a University’s College of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery. Furthermore, this study adhered to public health laws and regulations in Yemen, as well as to ethical principles of Helsinki. In addition, Sana’a University wrote an official letter to the dental clinics in the city of Sana’a to conduct this study, and agreement was given by the clinic official to collect specimens from patients with oral infections. Before sample collection, participants received a detailed explanation about the purpose and importance of conducting this study, and written informed consent was obtained from all participants and also that informed consent was obtained from the parents or legal guardians of participants under the age of 16.
