Verbal consent was obtained from participants who were contacted by phone only if they were not inpatients and this was approved by the ethical committees. An ongoing verbal consent was obtained each time during data collection in the longitudinal study design. All participants were informed about the possibility of withdrawing from the study at any time they would feel like it and that this withdrawal will not affect their treatment in any way.
