: The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Hannover Medical School (N° 8791_BO_K_2019) and the appointed data protection officer of Hannover Medical School, on December 2, 2019. Prior to initiating data collection, a project team member will explain the nature and purpose of the project, the methods used to maintain confidentiality and the need to audio record the interview/expert meeting, and present the informed consent form. Furthermore, participating LD caregivers will be asked to confirm that they understand the procedures to their full satisfaction. They will also be encouraged to ask any questions they may have, at any point in the procedure. A project team member will be available to answer these questions. Interviews will take place only after participants sign the consent form. All participation will be voluntarily, and under no circumstances will coercion be applied to obtain informed consent. Participants may terminate their participation in the project at any time, without providing a reason. In the event that a participant experiences significant discomfort or distress during the interview, the interview will be terminated and, if the participant agrees, continued at a later time. In addition, staff from the Institute for General Practice and Palliative Care at Hannover Medical School will provide support resources.
