: The study was approved on May 11, 2021, by the Ethics Committee of University Hospital Erlangen under the number 168_21B. The participants will receive a study information form and data protection clarification. Before conducting interviews or observations, researchers will explain the study's purpose, nature, and duration. Before data collection, informed consent will be sought from all participants: The Palliative Care Unit staff members at University Hospital Erlangen for ethnography and interviews, external experts, and the participants from the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Augsburg for the participation in focus groups. Clinical Data from the HIS will be analyzed under a broad consent agreement.
