: The study will be conducted in accordance to all relevant guidelines and regulations, including the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval for the project has been granted by the independent ethical review board of Witten/Herdecke University (No. S-131/2023). All co-researchers, advisory board members and interview participants will provide informed consent and will be informed about the option of ending participation and withdrawing consent at any point in time during the project. To address potential health concerns and psychosocial stress, co-researchers will be offered psychological support and different ways to participate (online, via e-mail, or via telephone). Representatives of hospice and palliative care providers will have to provide informed consent using an online form before entering the survey.
