: The study was conducted according to ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki []. Lund regional ethical board (Dnr: 2018/03, 2018/270) and the national ethical board (Dnr: 2020–03596; 2022-03284-02) approved the study. Patients and family members received written and verbal information about the study, it´s purpose, procedure and the interviewer’s background (SK; RN and PhD candidate). Information about confidentiality, decline and withdraw possibilities was given, and written consent was collected before the interviews. Aspects concerning the emotional status of the participants were considered.
