: This study is based on secondary analysis of data from the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). SHARE data collection procedures were carried out in accordance with the ethical standards of the Declaration of Helsinki and were approved by the relevant ethics committees in participating countries. Our study is conducted in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Research Involving Human Beings. Ethical approval was granted by the Ethics Committee of the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, under approval number 66/14 in March 2014. All participants were provided with informed consent and participated voluntarily. Consent was assessed on two occasions: by agreeing to schedule an interview and second, by their attendance at the interview. This procedure was reviewed and validated by the Ethics Committee of Canton de Vaud.
