Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study adhered to the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki. In accordance with national research regulations in Denmark, formal ethics committee approval was not required for this qualitative study. The study was approved by the regional data protection authority (Region Sjælland, Forskningsfortegnelsen: REG-128-2023, EMN-2023-09955). Written informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their involvement. Participants were fully informed about the study’s purpose, their right to withdraw at any point without consequence, and the measures taken to ensure data confidentiality. Additionally, approval for the study’s conduct was obtained from the hospital management.
