Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical clearance for this study was obtained from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College Research Ethics and Review Committee (CRERC) with clearance number 2306. Permission to conduct the study was obtained from the KCMC hospital administration and head of departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pathology. Consent to participate in this study was sought and obtained from each study participant by signing a written informed consent forms after risk and benefit of participating into the study were described and participation was absolutely voluntary. Patients who were found to have surgical complications during follow up were managed accordingly.
