: Since we performed secondary data analysis of the KDHS 2014 data, our study did not require any ethical approval. The ICF Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the National Ethics Committee of Kenya approved all the survey procedures and instruments of the KDHS 2014. They were assured of confidentiality and data protection. Only if participants signed a voluntary informed consent and privacy was ensured, the interview was conducted. ICF International authorised permission for using the data for this research.
