: This study was approved by the University of California, San Francisco Institutional Review Board. Due to the virtual nature of the conducted research as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, verbal informed consent was considered optimal. Verbal informed consent was approved due to the fact that the research presented no more than minimal risk of harm to subjects and involved no procedures for which written consent is normally required. Participants reviewed and discussed the informed consent document with the researcher prior to conducting the interviews and participant observation. After all questions about participation had been answered, the researcher asked for verbal consent via telecommunication. The verbal informed consent process was conducted in Spanish as this was the language preferred by the participants.
