: The study protocol was approved by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Institutional Review Board, the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria, and the Comité National d’Éthique des Sciences de la Vie et de la Santé (CNESVS) of the Côte d’Ivoire Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene. All respondents consented to participate, and all methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. Informed consent was obtained from all participants; PMA2020 follows the requirements of the local IRB, which requires an adult consent form for the household questionnaire, and a separate adult consent for the female questionnaire for all women age 15–49. For the purposes of this study, PMA2020 protocol is following international informed consent procedures, and 15 year olds are not considered children; this is also consistent with DHS procedures in both countries involved.
