: Ethical clearance was obtained for the NDHS 2018, and it was not necessary to collect an additional ethical clearance for the present study because it used de-identified secondary data from the NDHS 2018 []. Ethical approval was obtained by the Ethics Committee of the ICF Macro at Calverton in the USA in conjunction with the National Ethics Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria (ethics approval number: NHREC/01/01/2007). In accordance with the Nuremberg code and the Declaration of Helsinki, the principles of informed consent, respect for participants, fair subject selection, and favourable risk-benefit ratio were followed, and written informed consent was obtained from all respondents, and from the parents of respondents less than 18 years. Additionally, assent was obtained from those less than 18 years.
