: Research ethics to conduct this secondary analysis was obtained through the University of Melbourne research office (ethics ID 1647887.1), and conducted in accordance with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research. Data for this paper was drawn from the Kiribati Social Development Indicator Survey (KSDIS) [], conducted in 2018–2019 as part of the Global Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) Programme developed by UNICEF with the goal of generating internationally comparable data on women and children, covering a range of indicators including SRH, IPV and disability. Consent was gained by participants prior to completing the questionnaire. Parents or legal guardians provided consent for persons under the age of 16 to participate in the interview. The KSDIS [] outlines procedures used to gain consent should more detail be required.
