: This study used publicly available data that have obtained informed consent from all participants and ethical approval from relevant local ethics committees. The 2012 (Age 42) and 2016 (Age 46) BCS70 surveys have been granted ethical approval from the London-Central (Ref: 11/LO/1560) and the South East Coast – Brighton and Sussex (Ref: 15/LO/14/46) multicentre research ethics committees (MRECs). The 1970 (Birth) and 1975 (Age 5) surveys pre-date the establishment of the MREC system. Informed verbal consent has been obtained from all participants in the study [, ].
