: The study obtained expedited ethical clearance for this study from the institutional review board (IRB) of the Infectious Diseases Institute (SPH-2023-448), Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (HS3166ES).

The research team provided detailed information about the study objectives, procedures, risks, and benefits both verbally and through written materials. Participants were given time to ask questions and consider their participation. Written informed consent was then obtained from those who voluntarily agreed to participate.
