: Ethical approval to conduct the study was obtained from The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) Research Ethics Committee (REC), reference number TASO-2023-230. The research protocol was registered with the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) with approval number HS5443ES. Permission was sought from local authorities in Rakai district, and written informed consent was obtained from study participants. Confidentiality and anonymity were maintained throughout the study. This study followed the ethical declaration of Helsinki (1964).
