: <i>C. longa</i>, <i>Z. officinale</i> var. Bentong and <i>P. nigrum</i> were collected from Bentong, Pahang and <i>C. microcarpa</i> along with honey from <i>A. dorsata</i> were obtained from Ipoh, Perak. The appropriate authorisation has been obtained for the collection of these spices and their use has been carried out in accordance with the relevant guidelines. The identification of these common spices was carried out by Prof. Christophe Wiart, Professor of Pharmacognosy, UMS Malaysia where a voucher specimen was conserved under specimen MW 002–005/2022.
