: The experimental protocols used for this study were approved by the Institutional Ethical Committee of the University of Dschang (Cameroon) and were designed in concordance with the internationally accepted standard ethical guidelines for laboratory animals use and care as described in the guidelines of the European Union Institutional Ethics Committee on Animal Care (Council EEC 86/609/EEC of the 24<sup>th</sup> November 1986). All sections of this report adhere to the ARRIVE Guidelines for reporting animal research [CitationRef removed]. The Research Committee of PhD Projects Evaluation of the Faculty of Science (University of Dschang) approved the collection of <i>Bauhinia thonningii</i> (Schumach.) Milne-Redh. (Fabaceae). The collection of the studied plant complied with relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation. The plant was identified and authenticated by Mr. NANA Victor as <i>Bauhinia thonningii</i> (Schumach.) Milne-Redh. (Fabaceae) in comparison to the specimen of the herbarium recorded under voucher number 33258/HNC.
