: Approval was first granted by the National University of Lesotho Institutional Review Board (number) and the Lesotho Ministry of Health, National Research and Ethics Committee (NHREC) (ID112-2023). Permission was sought from the Senkatana Oncology clinic to conduct the study. Only codes were used to identify the cases. All research data were encrypted and stored in a lockable cupboard. Where interviews took place, informed consent forms were filled by patients who were interviewed.

: Further studies on the outcomes of cancer patients who use TCM relative to those who do not, need to be conducted. The pre-clinical effects of the most commonly used traditional and complementary medicines in Lesotho need to be studied as well.
