: Plant material collection was performed following the National Policy on Biodiversity Conservation and Research Proclamation, Regulations and Direction, Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Ethiopia. The protocols used in this experimental work and animal use were reviewed and approved by the Research and Technical Review Committee, Pharmacy Department, Mattu University, with reference number ‘Pharm 2019/17’. All the staffs involved in the research and animal handling were appropriately trained on the care and use of laboratory animals. The experimental theatre employed in this work was following the international guideline for studies utilizing animals, and all the protocols in this study were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations for using animals in compliance with the Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments (ARRIVE) guidelines.
