On a national level the ethics approval for our study,”The theoretical and empirical application of social capital conception: the professional well-being of medical students", was obtained from the Ethics Committee of the Hungarian Medical Research Council (ExternalRef removed) with the following reference number: 21971- 3 /2019/EKU. All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. The data protection protocol was approved by the Hungarian Educational Authority, who provided us with the database in anonymised form. The Hungarian Educational Authority oversees the entire administrative data collection of Hungarian public and higher education, and obtains all informed consent from each participant. On a local level the Ethics Committee of the Doctoral School of Human Sciences at the University of Debrecen confirmed the ethics approval.
