: This study is a collaboration between two universities, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and the University of Minnesota (U of M). The study was conducted under the oversight of the Institutional Review Boards of MUHAS, U of M (IRB case study 00004044) and the Tanzania National Institute of Medical Research, all of whom deemed the study as exempt from human subjects review since the focus of the interviews was on clinical practice and cultural perceptions (Common Rule Exemption Category 2).
