: As the study involved a quality improvement project to evaluate the educational impact of the clerkship, institutional review board approval from our institution’s IRB was not required. Consent was not required and all participants were informed that completing both pre- and post-clerkship surveys was voluntary and would not affect their surgery rotation evaluations. The authors were not part of the three-week clerkship discussed in this paper.
