: The study is part of the study “Effectiveness of a training program for healthcare professionals on parental cancer: Results of a randomized controlled pilot-study”, which was registered within the German Clinical Trial Register (DRKS-00015794) and approved by the Local Psychological Ethics Committee of the Center for Psychosocial Medicine, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany (LPEK-001). The psychometric evaluation of the SE-12-G was a secondary analysis of data gathered in the randomized controlled pilot-study. No administrative permission was required as all data were collected directly by the study team and no medical records were assessed. Written informed consent was obtained from all patients participating in the study. Study participation was voluntary.
