: The study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines and approved by the LEANbody consortium, which is funded by the European Commission. All participant educators, who are also part of the LEANbody project, were informed about the interviews purpose through consortium meetings and the project proposal. Ethical approval from an ethical board or institutional review board was not required, as the interview questions did not involve sensitive issues or data sampling. At the universities of Zagreb, Masaryk, and Pécs, educators do not need ethical approval from an ethical board or institutional review board to discuss their teaching knowledge and practices via interview or questionnaire. Instead, this is considered part of the quality assurance practices at these universities. The answers to the research questions raised in this study will be expected to generate new pedagogical knowledge that benefits medical education in Europe. This knowledge will be expected to be of both theoretical and practical benefit to society and humanity at large.Additionally, educators received information about the research aims beforehand and provided verbal and written informed consent to participate in the interview study. The written informed consent signed by educators were collected by the researcher before the start of the interview. They were aware that their participation was voluntary, confidential, and that they could withdraw at any time. Ethical approval from an ethical board or institutional review board was not sought, as the interview questions did not involve sensitive issues or data sampling. The research does not pose undue risk to educators. Educators were informed that their responses would be coded, analysed, and used for publication purposes. No individual educators were identifiable in the data. The recordings of the interviews were deleted permanently immediately after transcription of the data. The data is accessible only to the study authors on a password-protected Karolinska Institutet university server and will be stored for ten years before deletion, as required by as required by Karolinska Institutet (Laws and regulations governing the archiving of research data| Staff Portal).
