: This cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the diagnostic proficiency of fourth- and fifth-year dental students at the Faculty of Dentistry, Biruni University, in identifying dental caries on panoramic radiographs during the 2025 academic year.The study protocol was reviewed and approved by the Biruni University Ethics Committee (Approval No:2024-BİAEK/07–56). All procedures were performed in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee, the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, and relevant national regulations. Written informed consent to participate was obtained from all participants prior to their inclusion in the study.
